Patented in 1952 and launched a year later, the Ernest Borel Cocktail was designed by Henry DuPasquier as a conversation piece: a rotating kaleidoscope disc at the heart of the watch, turning continuously as the movement runs. Initially a niche curiosity, the model found its wider audience with the psychedelic sixties and became so popular that Ernest Borel adapted the concept into rings, pendants, brooches and desk clocks. This one dates from the 1970s, and still does exactly what it was made to do.
